How to find QuickBooks Online transactions with no receipt attached

You want the list of expenses or bills that still have no receipt before the books go to your accountant. An Intuit moderator wrote in 2020 that there is no specific report for it (Intuit Community). Community answers give a workaround with the Attachments column. Those threads date from 2020 to 2024, so check that the screens still match.

List QuickBooks Online expenses and sales that have no attachment

Open Expenses and stay on the Expenses tab (for sales, open Sales and then All Sales).
Click the gear icon above the Action column and tick Attachments.
Rows without a file show an Attach a file link.
Export the list to Excel and filter the Attachments column for blanks to isolate the rows with no file.

Where the workaround stops

The steps in the answers cover the Expenses and All Sales lists. Other transaction types are not covered.
A user in the same thread says the list needs a filter that shows only transactions without an attachment; the answers describe no such filter, so the blank rows are found by exporting and filtering in Excel (thread).
You then leave out unwanted transaction types, such as bill payments, by hand.
